A jury in Sioux Falls, SD has acquitted Hells Angels members Chad Wilson and John Midmore -- apparently accepting their self-defense argument -- for attempted murder in connection with the shooting of five Outlaws members at Custer State Park during the 2006 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally:
Jurors were in their third day of deliberations today when court officials were told around 2:20 p.m. that they had reached a verdict. Chad Wilson, 33, of San Diego faced five counts of attempted murder for shooting at a group of Outlaws at Custer State Park during the 2006 Sturgis rally. John Midmore, a 35-year-old Hells Angels recruit from Valparaiso, Ind., who drove Wilson to and from the scene, faced the same charges. Wilson and Midmore still face a conspiracy to commit murder charge, which was not part of the jury’s verdict. Prosecutors were deciding whether they would attempt to try the men on those charges at a later date.
