A couple of items about our Italian friends:
*** 20 individuals have been arrested for their alleged role in a Camorra or Neapolitan drug trafficking ring that smuggled cocaine from Spain into Italy for distribution in Naples and Rome.
*** Assets worth 10 million euros have been seized from the Piromalli clan of the 'Ndrangheta or Calabrian Mafia:
The assets include land and apartments, many in the northern city of Milan, and businesses and companies belonging to jailed local mafia boss Giuseppe Piromalli, 64, and his 37-year-old son Antonio, who is also in prison. Giuseppe Piromalli is the alleged head of the 'Ndrangheta's Piromalli crime family that operates in Calabria with branches in northern Italy and in the United States. He is the grandson of mafia boss Mommo Piromalli. Some of the goods confiscated on Tuesday include two apartments in the historic building owned by the Piromalli family in Gioia Tauro's historic centre.
