Italian police have apprehended Salvatore Russo, a reputed Camorra or Neapolitan Mafia boss who has been a fugitive since 1995, "after tearing down a wall in a dawn raid at a chicken farm where he had built a hideout" as reported by AFP:
The fugitive and his 62-year-old brother, Pasquale Russo, had completely reorganised the Camorra mafia since the 1990s, authorities said. Police said Russo's clan had total control over illegal activity in about 40 towns in the Naples region. Pasquale Russo has also been on the run since 1995 and is accused of mafia links, homicide and concealing bodies.
Meanwhile, authorities have identified the man allegedly behind the brazen sidewalk hit on Mariano Bacio Tarracino outside a bar last May which was captured on a security camera, and CNN reports: "A source who was not identified publicly said the killer was a man in his 30s from Naples' northern Sanita district who had recently left the city."
