Daniel "The Lion" Leo, the reputed ex-acting Genovese boss who already is serving a 60-month sentence on an extortion conviction, and his nephew Joseph Leo, a reputed lieutenant in the crime family who already is serving a 46-month sentence, today both pleaded guilty to federal racketeering charges involving "loan sharking and conspiring to operate an illegal gambling business" as reported by Justo Bautista for The Record. Daniel and Joseph Leo were among a dozen indicted last February, and the others include brothers Felice, Anthony and Angelo Masullo who pleaded guilty last November and are scheduled to be sentenced on February 19, and Rocco Petrozza, Patsy Aversa, and Joseph Petullo who are scheduled for trial in April.
