The fairer sex is not exempt from the evil wrath of the Mexican drug cartels. Hermila Garcia, the 38-year-old female police chief of Meoqui in the northern border state of Chihuahua, was assassinated Monday on her way to work by a convoy of gunmen after less than two months on the job as reported by Susana Seijas for CBS News: "Policing has become a job so dangerous that men are now shying away from such posts."
Meanwhile, the Mexican army discovered a mass grave with at least twenty corpses in Chihuahua as reported by Olivia Torres for The Associated Press: "soldiers found the bodies of 19 men and one woman buried in 12 graves over the weekend in the town of Puerto Palomas, across from Columbus, New Mexico."
