Arsonists continue to target predominantly Italian-owned cafes and businesses in the north end of Montreal, QC Canada as reported by Graeme Hamilton for the National Post: "Organized crime observers note that Montreal has seen similar violence in the past driven by the mob's desire to control distribution of a product." Last month Police Commander Mario Lamothe attributed a rash of 19 earlier arsons to "a conquest of territory between Italians for control of the drug traffic." However, there has been no finding that the subsequent incidents are related to the same alleged modus operandi.
