Last week a panel of mob historians discussed the historical relationship between Italian and Jewish gangsters, and among the topics discussed was the formation of the notorious killing machine Murder, Inc. which was formed by the Jewish Brownsville Boys and the Italian Mafia as reported by Samuel Newhouse for the Brooklyn Eagle: "'There's a stereotype that Jewish guys were the bookkeepers and Italians were enforcers. That's not true,' said panelist Eric Dezenhall, who is the author of The Devil Himself. 'There were plenty of intelligent Italians who kept the books, and there were plenty of psychotic, violent Jewish guys.'"
