Without a shot fired Mexican soldiers arrested Ovidio Limon Sanchez who allegedly is a top operative for Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman from the powerful Sinaloa drug cartel as reported by BBC News:
He is accused of organising huge shipments of cocaine into southern California and of running a network that distributes it throughout the US. He faces extradition to the US, which had offered a reward of up to $5m (£3.13m) for his arrest.
Meanwhile, another accused Sinaloa lieutenant, Jesus Vicente Zambada Niebla, faces a February trial on drug charges in a federal court in Chicago, IL, and the case has provided a rare look into the cartel's operations including its alleged plan for terrorist violence against U.S. interests in Mexico City as reported by Natasha Korecki for the Chicago Sun-Times.
