This little piggy went to market.
A retired detective in Montreal, QB Canada is accused of allegedly attempting to sell a confidential list containing the identity of 2,000 street informants and undercover agents to the Mafia for a six-figure sum as reported by CBC News.
Fortunately, the alleged scheme was uncovered pursuant to a wiretap investigation, and foiled before any identities were compromised.
The retired cop had thirty-three years on the Montreal force, and "according to investigators, he had access to 20 years of information gathered during investigations into the mob, bikers, street gangs and other criminals" as reported by QMI Agency.
Apparently someone was bitter over the size of his pension.
UPDATE: The retired cop suspected of betraying his country and fellow officers by allegedly attempting to sell the confidential informant list to the Mafia apparently committed suicide on Jan. 18, Wednesday morning, at the Châteauneuf Hotel in Laval, and he has been tentatively identified as Sgt. Ian Davidson as reported by The Montreal Gazette.
