That's gotta hurt.
Italian authorities have seized assets worth $83 million which are suspected of belonging to the notorious Casalesi clan from the Camorra or Neapolitan Mafia as reported by UPI: "the police operation focused on a jailed businessmen and two Casalesi members, including the brother of jailed leader Michele Zagaria."
Police arrested Michele Zagaria last month, and rival mobsters since have been whacking each other off in a bid to fill the power vacuum as reported by UPI: "the recent deaths of five people may be related to turf wars between rival Camorra mafia clans in Naples."
The financial hits against the Camorra may be proving even more devastating than the mob hits.
Last Friday authorities seized assets worth $139 million allegedly tied to the Russo clan as reported by Pupia.
Asset seizure is nothing new, just like Camorra wars are nothing new. More than once the Camorra has been declared dead throughout its long history, and yet the 21st century has seen the Camorra at its most powerful. I'm sorry my friend but the Camorra is here to stay. Thats just reality.
