The feds have busted nine suspected Gulf cartel associates for their alleged roles in smuggling marijuana bales and bulk cash back and forth between McAllen, TX and central Florida as reported by Amy Pavuk for the Orlando Sentinel:
At times, there was so much cash waiting for shipment to Texas that it was buried in the backyard of one of the suspects. Tape-recorded conversations last summer indicated one man in Apopka had buried about $2 million in cash until it could be trucked back to the border, records show.
Apparently Central Florida is chock full of degenerate addicts, and over the last twenty years all the major Mexican drug cartels -- Gulf, Sinaloa, La Familia and Los Zetas -- have established well-entrenched trafficking cells in the area to supply their insatiable customers.
