If it's not one thing it's another.
David Aponte admitted his involvement in the arson of a Staten Island deli which competed against a mobbed-up bagel store and did the right thing by cooperating with the feds in the investigation; however, his anticipated reward on sentencing day for changing sides may come to naught as reported by Mitchel Maddux for the New York Post: "while out on bail and awaiting sentencing for the deli attack, Brooklyn federal prosecutors say, Aponte was arrested by police in Bayonne, NJ, and charged with raping a female acquaintance."
In 2006 several reputed Gambino associates were charged for their alleged roles in the deli arson.
