Jury selection begins tomorrow in the criminal trial against trial lawyer and Democrat politician John Edwards for allegedly using undisclosed campaign funds to cover up an adulterous affair with videographer Rielle Hunter which resulted in an illegitimate child during his failed 2008 run for the White House while wife Elizabeth was at home dying of breast cancer as reported by The Associated Press:
"After all these years, I finally get my day in court and people get to hear my side of this, and what actually happened," Edwards said on the steps of the federal courthouse in Greensboro following a pretrial hearing in October. "And what I know with complete and absolute certainty is I didn't violate campaign laws and I never for a second believed I was violating campaign laws."
Meanwhile, the degenerate's "presidential campaign has now repaid taxpayers the more than $2.1 million in federal public matching funds he received after leaving the 2008 race" as reported by Mackenzie Weinger for Politico: "on March 12, the FEC upheld its ruling from last year that Edwards was wrongly given the money after he dropped out of the race in the midst of his sex scandal."
Last month an escort who supposedly worked for accused New York City madam Anna Gristina said that John Edwards was a brothel client although the lawyer-politician denies the claim as reported by Michelle Cottle for The Daily Beast.
