Joseph Olivieri, a former benefits fund trustee for the New York District Council of Carpenters union, was convicted for lying about his Genovese ties but that apparently hasn't dissuaded Joseph Firth, listed as president of the upstart Amalgamated Carpenters and Joiners, from visiting the jailed reputed mob associate as reported by Greg B. Smith for the Daily News: "Firth and several other former members of the District Council of Carpenters broke away to form the Amalgamated union, claiming they want to offer a blemish-free option to its 20,000 members."
