Derek Capozzi pled guilty to a federal escape charge on Monday as reported by Tom Kenny for WTVQ.
Capozzi was a reputed member of the DeCologero Crew which allegedly was tied to the Carroza faction of the Patriarca family, and while serving hard time on several federal convictions kicked out the door of a van during a prisoner transport two years ago in Central Kentucky. He was apprehended after three days on the run, and claims he made the break to seek medical treatment for an ailing ticker as reported by Brett Barrouquere for The Associated Press.
There's no doubt that Capozzi has a bad heart. Among his crimes is a conviction for dismembering a slain 19-year-old girl.
