The feds keep their rats on a short leash, and apparently reputed Bonanno associate Joseph Galante Jr. will not testify as a Team America member at the ongoing extortion trial against reputed Genovese capo Anthony "Rom" Romanello as reported by John Marzulli for the Daily News: "the government typically takes such drastic action when the informant has been caught committing new crimes" but "Galante's criminal case is sealed so it is unknown what he's accused of." Mob rats are closely supervised by federal authorities in order to ensure the credibility of their testimony on the witness stand, protect the constitutional rights of the defendants against whom they testify, and maintain the overall integrity of the criminal justice system, and those who breach the strict terms of their cooperating deals are quickly kicked to the curb.
