The FBI is investigating Andy Stern who -- until his abrupt resignation last April -- was the president of the 2.2-million member Service Employees International Union as reported by The Associated Press: "[T]wo organized-labor officials met with federal agents this summer to answer questions about a six-figure book contract Mr. Stern landed in 2006 and his role in approving money to pay the salary of an SEIU leader in California who allegedly performed no work." Stern has been among President Obama's most frequent White House visitors as reported by Susan Davis for The Wall Street Journal. The SEIU denies that the union and Stern are the subject of any investigation as reported by Ben Smith for Politico.
