Street gangs increasingly are terrorizing the good people of Little Havana in Miami, FL, and last week federal prosecutors variously charged 17 suspected members from Big Money Team "with armed robberies, assaults and car jackings" as reported by Jay Weaver for the Miami Herald: "Miami Police Chief Manuel Orosa told the Herald . . . that over the years young street gangs like the Big Money Team have moved into the historic Cuban exile community to sell drugs, generating complaints among longtime residents and businesses." Law enforcement has not yet cracked "a syndicate based in South Florida, many of them Cuban" which is suspected of cargo thefts across the United States as reported by Daniel Grushkin for Businessweek.
