It's been a week of reckoning for reputed New England Mafia soldier Darin "Nino" Bufalino as reported by Milton J. Valencia for The Boston Globe. In one case Bufalino was sentenced to seven years for armed robbery, and in another was sentenced to another seven years for extortion although the terms will run concurrently.
State prosecutors allege that Bufalino was an enforcer for former Patriarca boss Francis "Cadillac Frank" Salemme in the 1980s, and more recently was a tool for reputed capo and FBI informant Mark Rossetti.
Bufalino has been ordered to have no contact with Rossetti "who is awaiting trial on multiple charges of drug trafficking, extortion, weapons possession and crimes of violence" as reported by Laurel J. Sweet for the Boston Herald.
