A federal jury has acquitted Joseph Bruno, the one-time majority leader of the New York State Senate, on fraud charges as reported by Jesse McKinley for The New York Times: "the case's conclusion comes as New York politicians continue to grapple with their reputation for a lack of ethical oversight, highlighted again recently with Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's dismantling of an anticorruption panel and a series of scandals involving lawmakers at various levels of government."
