Rand Paul, the libertarian folk hero and son of Texas Congressman Ron Paul, won the Republican primary nomination earlier this week for a U.S. Senate seat from Kentucky, and the big government left has its panties in a bunch. Although Rand Paul abhors discrimination -- and in fact is in favor of the 1964 Civil Rights Act -- he previously has questioned whether Congress had the constitutional power to pass the legislation. Of course, liberals cannot distinguish between the means and the end because like good Marxists they believe the end justifies the means. And so because Rand Paul merely questioned the government means by which to end discrimination in the private sector they now are engaged in a smear campaign falsely accusing Rand Paul of racism. Welcome to America 2010.
