Former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich has been convicted of attempting to sell President Barack Obama's old U.S. Senate seat among other crimes as reported by Bob Secter and Jeff Coen for the Chicago Tribune: the jury found "Blagojevich guilty on 11 criminal counts related to the Senate seat and six counts involving fundraising shakedowns of a hospital executive and racetrack owner."
Blagojevich is the fourth Illinois governor in recent years "to be convicted of crimes, his conviction Monday putting him in the company of Democrats Otto Kerner and Dan Walker and Republican George Ryan" as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.
The people of Illinois should be ashamed of their consistent record of voting dirty politicians into office, and the string of convictions says more about the idiotic voters in the state than their crooked leaders.
Meanwhile, speaking of politicians from Chicagoland, the President apparently "filmed a video for his reelection campaign in the White House, which may possibly be a violation of federal election laws" as reported by Real Clear Politics.
