Yes The Old Badlands Just Doors South on West Street from Such Notorious Places as The Original RAMROD, The Leather Underground, Sneakers, Where you could watch Leather men play Bingo. Then Crossing West & Christopher, The Original Christopher's End & "KELLERS" I Can still remember the smell of Leather,Sweat, Sex, Stale Beer & Poppers. as you walked past the bars.
Then a short walk north on West Street. Peter Rabbit, Cell Block off the Corner of 11th & West, Then further up on West St. Alex In Wonderland, & The "Astrix" Pronounced ASS TRICK, Then The Anvil. Oh Those were the days my friends.
The Drag Queens working West St. Cruising the Abandoned Piers across the Street.
Then a Couple of Blocks East The Mine Shaft, Hell Fire, Cell Block 28, J's
Further North on West ST, The Toolbox, The Spike, The Eagle
Don't forger The Silver Dollar on Christopher for Breakfast.

God, those were the days... Now we have the Internet and there's no comparison. Can we go back to the mid '70s please? I would right away...
Today it's all so flat...I wish I lived the 70s in New York...

I am not really old enough to remember the days of those places, but in the 10 years I lived upstate in Kingston, I heard the stories and how I wished I could have been there. Some of the places mentioned above I have actually been to, about 20 years ago. I have vivid memories of The Eagle and The Spike. An older friend of mine pointed out many of the places that no longer existed like the Bad Lands. I feel like I have been cheated out of a great part of gay history because I was born too late. I agree with the one post, Can we go back to the mid 70's or maybe even a little earlier and relive those HOT HOT times. I miss New York and the Village especially.
